Description

Date: November 9, 2025 – One-Day Nature Hike

We’re setting out on a journey where history, culture, and nature come together!

This trail, marked by the footsteps of ancient civilizations, opens the doors to a place that has quietly yet profoundly shaped the story of Anatolia. The rocks rising across Konya’s unique landscape have hosted caravans, travelers, and silent witnesses of time for centuries — and now, with our steps, we’ll bring this heritage to life once again.

Our hike begins in Botsa Village. This valley features rock-carved settlements bearing traces from the Hellenistic and Roman periods — underground chambers, rock tombs, and ancient habitation layers abound. We then continue toward Evliyatekke Village, where the spiritual essence of Anatolia meets rural life. You’ll find traces of the Horasan dervishes, the culture of the old tekkes, and the peaceful rhythm of a village intertwined with nature.

The highlight of our route is the Ancient City of Kilistra. Among its rock-cut houses, churches, cisterns, and age-old pathways, we embark on a journey through time. This area was once part of the “Royal Road,” a historic route frequented by many civilizations throughout the ages.
