24 April | Meeting in Konya & Cultural Introduction Program

We meet in the morning in Konya city center and begin our panoramic city tour. Starting from Mevlana Square, we follow a broad route that reveals both the historical and modern faces of the city. Areas such as the Mevlana surroundings, Alaaddin Hill, Meram Vineyards, Sille, and other key cultural landmarks are explored panoramically, offering a narrative journey through Konya’s past and present. (City Tour Route: Mevlana Square, Martyrdom, Panorama Museum, Mevlana Cultural Center, Şerafettin Mosque, Stone Building, Karatay Madrasa, İnce Minaret, Alaaddin Hill and Mosque, Nalçacı Street, Ancestors Park, New Stadium, Tropical Butterfly Garden, Sille, Akyokuş, Maiden's Rock, Meram Stream, Cemel Ali Dede Tomb, Tavus Baba, Aydın Çavuş Forest, Meram Vineyards, New Meram Street, Konya National Garden, Monument, Chateau Form, Victory, Warehouse No:4, İplikçi Mosque, Governorship Building, Bedesten.)

At midday, we depart from Mevlana Square toward Çatalhöyük Ancient City, one of the oldest known human settlements in history. Upon arrival, we enjoy an approximately two-hour visit covering the visitor center, excavation areas, and reconstructed houses. This visit provides a rare opportunity to closely experience Neolithic life and one of Anatolia’s earliest settlement cultures.

At the end of the day, we return to Konya city center. In the evening, participants have free time before settling into the designated campsite near the city. For participants arriving from outside Konya, overnight accommodation will be provided at this campsite.

Participants living in Konya may choose to join only the hiking stage on 25–26 April, or optionally take part in this cultural introduction day as well.

Note:
Entrance to Çatalhöyük Ancient City is with a Museum Pass (MüzeKart). Please bring a valid Museum Pass with you.

Day 2

Our hike begins in the mysterious and tranquil atmosphere of Gâvur Lake. Leaving the calm wetlands behind, we ascend toward Keşlik Plateau, following the traces of ancient migration routes. Along the plateau crossings, flower-filled trails awakened by spring and wide-open horizons accompany us.

After passing the plateau line, we reach Kovalı Lake, take a short break, and then continue toward Dipsiz Lake. By the end of the day, we arrive at our campsite and set up our tents.
In the evening, we gather around the campfire amid spring flowers, leaving behind the day’s gentle fatigue through conversation and the quiet of nature.

Day 3

On the final day, we depart from camp in the cool morning air, accompanied by lake views, and continue our hike. Following natural corridors and scenic landscapes, we reach Sülüklü Lake.

From here, we proceed toward Ketenli Village, where stone structures reflecting rural life and traditional village architecture welcome us. After a short break, we continue our walk toward Yaylacık (Nuzumla) Village.

In the final stage, we head toward Elbengi Recreation Area, reaching a region known for its natural spring waters. We refill our water bottles from the cool springs and complete our hike amid unforgettable landscapes. Afterwards, we begin our return journey to Konya.
